Dry Ice Blasting is an Eco-Friendly Process for Equipment Cleaning, Surface Preparation, Mold Remediation, Renewal and Restoration
Dry ice blasting, also called dry ice cleaning, is an environmentally sustainable cleaning and surface preparation technique. Dry ice blasting uses recycled solid carbon dioxide (CO2) pellets or micro particles, which are blasted at supersonic speeds and sublimate on impact, lifting dirt and contaminants off the underlying substrate. Dry ice cleaning is non-abrasive, non-conductive, non-toxic, and non-flammable. It is also chemical free and does not create secondary waste streams.
Why would I choose dry ice blasting over another detailing method?
Dry ice cleaning does not use valuable and expensive water in the cleaning process. It can also reduce time and labour costs significantly when compared to other methods.
Dry ice blasting is the right solution for fire restoration and is saving many property insurance companies millions of dollars with fire related claims involving commercial buildings and residential properties.
Does your facility require a deep clean to run optimally and to keep your work environment safe? Reduce cleaning time, valuable water usage and production line interruptions with dry ice blasting solutions.
At Carmad Industrial, we specialize in cleaning and restoring facilities, factories, plants and equipment. Dirt, grime, grease and oil buildup in production facilities may cause equipment to function improperly and can cause an unsafe working environment. Effective dry ice cleaning extends the life of electric motors, reducing or eliminating costly repairs, replacement or rental programs.
However, manual cleaning is often delayed to prevent production line shutdown. Dry ice cleaning provides a quick, safe and economical solution that allows equipment to be cleaned in-place without disassembly or cool down.
All of our service techs have extensive training on cleaning complicated equipment like power generation equipment, turbines, engines, and more.
Dry Ice blasting is a revolutionary cleaning process designed for a wide range of industries and applications such as food, manufacturing, automotive, printing, packaging, power generation and much more. It’s extremely effective and efficient for cleaning electrical motors, switchboards and automotive parts.

Restoration & Remediation
Dry ice blasting is proven to be a more efficient and time saving solution in remediation and restoration projects. The process is non-abrasive, eliminates manual cleaning methods and does not produce secondary waste, which reduces the amount of time spent on encapsulation, waste collection and disposal.
Medical Devices
Dry ice cleaning reduces cleaning time of precision molds as well as precision and high-tolerance medical parts. Dry ice blasting is being used in ISO 8 – Class 100,000 clean rooms.
Plastics & Composites
Solutions for your pain points in plastics processing.
Dry ice blasting helps plastic manufacturers reduce scrap and downtime, improve product quality and prolong the life of their equipment.
Rubber & Tires
Keep your tire and rubber mold presses running
Buildup of cured material and mold release agents causes sticking molds, blemishes and unwanted flash on final parts, making them unusable and requiring press shutdown for cleaning. Traditional cleaning methods can be time consuming, ineffective, damaging to molds and result in high labor and material costs.
Dry ice blasting is an in-place, online or offline, quick and effective way to clean without damaging expensive molds.
Automotive
Dry ice blasting helps automotive facilities solve a variety of cleaning challenges, allowing them to increase productivity and improve part quality.
Power Generation
Reduce downtime and unplanned outages in power generation
Dry ice blasting ensures regular maintenance of critical path power equipment in power generation. The process is non-conductive, non-abrasive and allows for effective in-place cleaning without cool-down or disassembly.
Surface Preparation
Dry ice blasting eliminates the need for aqueous or chemical solutions for surface preparation. The process removes contaminants from delicate plastic surfaces and is also used to remove heavy contaminant buildup on metal and steel surfaces for immediate repair or non-destructive testing.
Dry ice blasting will not leave residue on surfaces or cause grit entrapment, which results in higher quality parts and more accurate measurements during testing.
Foundry
Reduce downtime while protecting foundry equipment from damage
Dry ice blasting significantly reduces cleaning time of permanent molds, core boxes, die cast tooling and ancillary equipment while improving part quality.
Textiles & Adhesive Removal
Lint, glue and other buildup on production equipment is a common problem within the textile industry. With dry ice blasting, buildup can be removed quickly and without disassembly or damage to the equipment.
Packaging Equipment
Clean packaging equipment faster, in-place and without damage
Dry ice blasting thoroughly cleans buildup, such as adhesive, ink, grease, paper dust, labels and food residue from packaging equipment in-place, while running, enabling facilities to maximize control and production efficiency.
Printing Equipment
Dry ice blasting quickly cleans printing machinery parts with little to no disassembly or downtime. The process easily and accurately cleans burnished ink, heavy grease and caked on paper dust without chemicals or damage to sensitive and expensive components.
Public Transportation
Reduce service disruptions and extend asset life. For public transportation systems, clean equipment is crucial for reliable and high performing operations.
